A balanced offense

Obviously, you need offense to be able to score points. However, the most important key for success in 2019 will be balance. Nebraska Football did okay with balance in 2018, but it could be better for 2019.

Nebraska rushed the football 464 times last season per CFBStats.com. That ranked them 28th in the country. They passed the ball 404 times last season, which ranked them 52nd in the country. They certainly need to pass the ball a little more, especially with the amount of playmakers they have on offense. Finding that balance will be key to their success in 2019. Although the difference between the rush and the pass numbers aren’t that big of a gap, you’d still like to see it a little more even. I understand that different teams will call for different game plans. That is perfectly reasonable. I am just saying that they should make sure do not fall in love with one method of offense over the other.

Scott Frost has a lot more to work with on the offensive side of the football than he did last year. Hopefully, he can utilize all of his options in the best ways possible. It will be exciting to see the offense perform, and I am confident that they can do well. They need to do well, as that unit could make or break Nebraska Football having a successful season in 2019.
