The Nebraska Football duo is in a good position to make waves in 2019.

It’s always good when a quarterback and wide receiver have a connection. Such is the case with Adrian Martinez and JD Spielman. Both players are coming off impressive seasons and should have a lot to build on in 2019.

As Spielman told Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star, him and Martinez are very close. They are like brothers, and that may mean good things for the upcoming season. As a veteran at the wide receiver position, it is safe to say that Spielman will be counted on to carry the load offensively. Although it may seem like a tall task, it is one that Spielman should be able to handle. He will need to handle it as well as mentor the young guys if Nebraska Football wants to win in 2019. Many experts have them ranked highly. At least on the offense of side of the ball, it starts with Martinez and Spielman.

As a Nebraska fan, this makes me very excited. When the quarterback has a player he can trust, especially one that possesses a ton of skill, that means great things for the offense. Growing up in New England, I have seen it with my own eyes. When New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman are on the same page, it is a thing of beauty. Edelman knows where the ball is going before Brady even throws it. That type of synergy is invaluable. If Martinez and Spielman can harness that heading into training camp, that automatically makes them a dangerous duo moving forward.

"“That’s my little big brother right there,” Spielman said. “He’s taller than me and he weighs more than me, but at the same time, I’m the older guy in the group. That’s my little brother to me. I’ve learned a lot from him and hopefully he can say the same back about me, that he’s learned a lot from me so far. I’m just excited to see where this next year takes us.”"

I can’t wait to see what these two players can accomplish moving forward. It should be a big year for both of them and the program and the buildup to this season has been insane. I can’t remember a time where a Nebraska Football program has been hyped up at this much. Of course, time will tell as to how they will do, but the future is looking very bright. They have all the pieces they need to be successful.

Spielman should have a huge year in 2019. Everything is aligning for him to be one of the top receivers statistically in college football. As long as he has Adrian Martinez, anything is possible. The duo has made that very clear early on.
