Nebraska Football is beginning to get the respect they deserve.

Nebraska Football is receiving some national media attention this week from a magazine that has given the Huskers a ton of love over the past couple of months. Althon Sports came out with their college football preview, and Nebraska Football was a big part of it.

It started with having Nebraska Football quarterback Adrian Martinez on the cover. That is certainly an exciting thing to see, particularly when he was a relatively unknown player last season on a national scale. Now, everybody should have a chance to learn his name. For those who are reading this that have not heard of Adrian Martinez, if you haven’t studied up on him, get busy. He should be in line for a big year in 2019.

In addition to having the quarterback on the cover, Nebraska was predicted to win the Big 10 West. That is certainly not going to be an easy feat. Consider the teams in the division. Northwestern, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Iowa are probably the four biggest obstacles in Nebraska Football’s quest for a conference title. Granted, those four have lost some key players to the NFL draft, but they still should be able to put up a fight. That is not going to be an easy grouping to win.

It’s cool to see Nebraska getting love though. It has been quite a while since Nebraska Football has received this much attention. Of course, the next challenge for them is going to be to try to live up to all the type. I think they can, they have certainly put in the work during the offseason to be successful. One of the better measuring sticks will be training camp as all of the players will have arrived on campus by then and we will get to see competition in its truest form. I can’t wait for that, it should be a lot of fun.

As a Nebraska site, I have every right to hype the Huskers up as much as I want., it is nice to see that some of these larger publications have the same hope for the team that I do. Everyone is hopeful for a big year, and I can definitely see it coming. This probably will not be the last time we see either Martinez or a member of the Nebraska Football program on the cover of a magazine. With any luck, their faces will  will be on national newsstands with some confetti come January.
