Nebraska Football landed a graduate transfer on Sunday.

It seems like whether it be football or basketball, Nebraska continues to keep building their rosters for success. On Sunday, it was Nebraska Football that found themselves landing a new player from the transfer market. Former California wide receiver Kanawai Noa announced he was transferring to Nebraska via his Instagram account.

This fills one of the two remaining spots on the roster for the 2019 season. He counts as a member of the 2019 class.

More from Husker Corner

Noa comes to the program as an interesting player. While  at California, he certainly made himself serviceable in the passing game. He has had a great two seasons, catching 30 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns in eight contests in 2018.

His 2017 numbers were even better, as he recorded 56 catches for 788 yards and four touchdowns. His 56 catches put him eighth-best in the Pac-12 in that category. Nebraska could certainly use that same level of production. He joins defensive line coach Tony Tuioti as a Golden Bear alum. At the very least,  Noa will have a friendly face to turn to when he comes onto campus.

Measuring in at exactly 6 feet and 170 pounds, Noa is an intriguing player. Although he is only 6 feet,  he plays a lot bigger than that. In some of the highlights I watched, one of the things that stuck out to me was his physicality. He is not afraid to run over defenders if need be. In addition, he can catch passes in traffic and throw passes that were meant for him. What I mean by that is, they are put in a place where only he, and not the defenders, can reach. That would certainly be helpful to a  Nebraska Football offense that can certainly use the depth.

They need someone that can play behind the likes of JD Spielman and Mike Williams, and I believe they got it with Noa. The fact that he can play right away is huge. Although the wide receiver depth is beginning to come more into focus, there is no doubt that the Huskers need an additional player. In Noa, not only are they getting an additional player, they are getting one with experience. That is huge for a young receiving unit.

Now, I am interested to see who the last roster spot will go to. There is no doubt that Nebraska Football has a ton of talent, and if they can add to it with that last roster spot, that would be huge. With Scott Frost, you never know what is going to happen. So far, he has Nebraska football firing on all cylinders.
