For these Nebraska Football players, that is a good thing.

All throughout spring ball, you have heard me talk about players that have really stepped up and played well. They are most likely names you have not heard much of yet, but will in the fall. That is what spring ball is all about: letting unheralded names have the spotlight as they try to prove to their respective teams what they can do. Nebraska Football certainly has a lot of those types of players. To make matters even better, they are talented.

As the unheralded players made their mark, that left some of the veterans just going through the motions during spring ball. It certainly wasn’t any fault of their own, that was just the opportunity they were presented with. They did not need spring ball, they just used it as a tuneup to the regular season. Most of the players on this list will be in good shape come the fall and some will even lead their positions as their respective spots are filled with youth. Veteran leadership will certainly be needed next season.

Without further ado, I take a look at three players who really didn’t need spring ball and how they could help the younger players at their positions moving forward.
