Jaylin Bradley

Bradley played last year so he is not necessarily a “new guy,” but he is perhaps the individual whose stock has trended the most in the upward direction after this spring. After playing sparingly last year, he needed to have a good spring ball in order to separate himself from the incoming group of running backs slated to get here in the summertime. He has done that, and he showed it on Saturday.

He rushed the ball 12 times for 58 yards on Saturday, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Perhaps the one thing that has been hampering him the most so far the spring is his ability to run straight. He often thinks too much before getting the ball, and that is a habit he needs to break quickly. However, he has been a strong, explosive runner that could very well be in the running back conversation come the fall.

Spring practices were the time for him to show what he was made of before the running back from got crowded. He certainly did that. He is still a little raw in terms of skills, but he should be able to correct those in time. His stock soared this spring and he could definitely be another proverbial “force in the stable” at the running back position for Nebraska oFotball. If he can build off this momentum he has accrued so far during the spring, he should be in a great position come the fall.
