Nebraska Football: Latest recruiting pursuit puts Huskers among elite
Nebraska Football is making a push for a star recruit.
It always seems like Nebraska Football head coach Scott Frost and his coaching staff are up to something every day in terms of recruiting. That may be the case yet again. This week, we saw the commitment of Jahkeem Grant to the Nebraska Football program. Now, they appear to be in the mix for another top-notch recruit according to Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star ($).
Outside linebacker Quandarrius Robinson is a name that Nebraska Football has put on their radar. Robinson is a four-star recruit who is the 12th overall outside linebacker in the 2020 class, and the eighth overall player in the state of Alabama per the 247Sports Composite rankings. In addition to Nebraska’s interest, Robinson has also received interest from the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida. That is certainly quite a list for Nebraska to go up against.

Robinson originally committed to Auburn on July 9, 2018. All was well on the recruiting front for quite a while. Something must’ve changed after he visited Alabama for their Junior Day on January 26. Four days later, he decommitted from Auburn. Now, his recruitment is wide open and whoever lands him is getting one heckuva player. In terms of how Nebraska fits into all this, he visited the program on September 28. For what it’s worth, he had a Nebraska-themed tweet on Monday night.
Measuring in at six-foot-five, 217 pounds, Robinson would be a great asset for Nebraska as he has the ability to overpower an offensive lineman with ease. He can come around the edges and push offensive linemen back, collapsing the pocket quicker and making the opposing quarterback uncomfortable. Nebraska Football could certainly use a player that could do that. Especially when you consider the quarterbacks in the Big Ten conference and how quickly they get rid of the football, Robinson would be a definite boost to a defensive line that has already shown they want to be aggressive and thorough in what they do.
Nebraska Football is certainly on the outside looking in right now. However, Scott Frost has shown that he is not afraid to try in make the big splash when it comes to recruiting. Nebraska Football could certainly use a player like Robinson to anchor the defense and give the unit yet another pass-rushing defensive end. The talents and the overall size that he would bring to the defensive side of football would definitely be a tremendous boost for the program. Yes, other schools are looking at him that may sound a bit more appealing than Nebraska. However, Nebraska Football is on the rise and something has to be said for that.
