Nebraska Football snagged a late-night reaffirmation on Monday.

Nebraska Football is continuing to add to their recruiting class as they were able to solidify a commitment on Monday night. 2019 defensive tackle Jahkeem Green committed to the Nebraska Football program. He last played football at Highland Community College.

A four-star  prospect, Green is ranked the 18th overall junior-college player, the second overall defensive tackle, and the seventh overall player in the state of Carolina per the 247Sports JUCO Composite Rankings.

Measuring in at six-foot-four, 300 pounds, Green was a highly sought-after recruit. Nebraska was able to beat out some top-tier programs. In addition to FIU, Florida, Georgia, and Houston all extended offers. For Nebraska Football, he was recruited by running backs coach Ryan Held and defensive line coach Tony Tuioti.

Green recorded 67 tackles and 2.5 sacks for Highland as he proved to be a dominant force on the defensive end. What could he bring to Nebraska Football? He is aggressive, he plays hard, and he can bulldoze offensive lines with ease. He will be an instant run-stuffer as well as a pass rusher. Nebraska Football  has a ton of pass rushers, and Green should be able to fit right into the mix. Putting Green on the same side of the football as the Daniels brothers for instance should scare opposing offenses.

Green joins a class that ranks No.18 nationally and number four in the Big Ten. With several of the commitments in the class already enrolled, Nebraska Football is already beginning to see some of the  enrollees pay dividends over the course of spring ball. Of course, time will tell if they can perform at a high level once the games begin in earnest. However, several returns on many of the players indicate that they are in good positions to succeed.

Green will certainly have a chance to be put into that category as well. The fact that he gets the chance to work with Tony Tuioti is tremendous. The defensive line coach has already proven to be a good recruiter and his passion and energy for coaching the game seems unmatched.

Next. Three takeaways from Spring Game. dark

Scott Frost and his staff should be very pleased at the fact they landed Green. He is an aggressive player, and his playmaking skills and abilities are going to fit in nicely with the program. This is a player that I could see starting very soon, although he will have some stiff competition on the defensive line. Nevertheless, he will be fun to watch no matter what capacity he plays in.
