Nebraska Football was indeed represented on the list.

With all of the improvements that Nebraska Football has been making over the past couple of months, it would be rare to say that they have taken a backseat in any event. When it comes to the upcoming NFL Draft however, that is exactly what has happened. Nebraska Football really only has two prospects that have shown they have enough talent to get to the next level. One in particular is generating buzz.

More from Husker Corner

Running back Devine Ozigbo certainly falls into that category. As many of you can recall, he was a stud for Nebraska Football. In four years in Lincoln, he recorded  2,196 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. Averaging 5.2 yards per attempt, he was a true workhorse. He was certainly fun to watch on Saturdays, and whichever National Football League team gets him will be lucky to have him. He set the standard by which Nebraska Football running backs should play, particularly during his senior year.

Coming in at number 134 on Pro Football Focus’ Big Board rankings published Thursday, Ozigbo is certainly thick in the middle in conversations of top prospects. Being the lone Cornhusker on this list, he is certainly representing Nebraska Football well. If anything, it’s a continuation of what he has done in the Lincoln over the years.

A high-cut, powerful back coming out of Nebraska, Ozigbo gained at least two yards after contact or more than 70 percent of his runs and earned an 82.7 overall grade in 2018. Though he didn’t receive a Combine invite, Ozigbo should see significant interest in this year’s draft.

I am a bit surprised that Stanley Morgan Jr. did not make this list. Although he was not represented here, he will probably be drafted when his time comes. Nevertheless, it is great to have one Cornhusker on this list, and I can’t wait to see which team Ozigbo will be playing for next season. The fact that he was able to showcase his talents during the Nebraska Pro Day certainly helped him. At the very least, that gave some teams a measuring stick in terms of where he could fit with their organizations. Now, he just has to sit back and play the waiting game.

Wherever he goes, I wish him the best of luck. He was a huge part of Nebraska football, and now he looks to continue his successful football career on the big stage. I will certainly be following closely.
