Jaron Woodyard

Very rarely do I put multiple players at the same position on this list. However, with wide receiver being such a big wildcard heading into the remainder of spring practices, there is a definite good reason to put multiple players at the position on here. Jaron Woodyard is the top player on this list that could become the ultimate breakout candidate.

His statistics at first glance are not eye-popping. He only caught one pass for 10 yards and that came in the team’s loss to Purdue. Although it may not seem like much, he at least has a little something to show the coaches and has proof he can be a part of the offense. Per the most recent depth chart from OurLads.com he is the starting “Z” wide receiver. That puts them in a prime position to be able to make an impact. Although he will be thrown into the fire so to speak, it will be a good test to see where he is at.

The wide receiver position will certainly be want to watch during the spring game. Although it may seem like a dress rehearsal to some, it is an important event for certain positions. This will give the coaches a chance to show what the position could look like during a simulated game. Woodyard should certainly be tested as he should see many reps during the course of the game. It  may be a nice preview for the fall.
