The new Nebraska Basketball head coach has extended several offers already.

It’s no secret that Nebraska Basketball has some holes to fill, particularly if Isaiah Roby decides to of to the NBA, and with transfer of Thomas Allen on Friday. New head coach Fred Hoiberg has seemed to take notice of this, and he has been hitting the recruiting trail hard over the last couple of days. To be completely honest, he has no other choice. He needs to make his mark recruiting over these next couple months

Brian Christopherson of 247Sports put together a nice list on Saturday of all the offers Hoiberg has extended to recruits. In a rather lengthy list, it is clear that he has hit the ground running and is focused on rebuilding the Nebraska Basketball program. There are some impressive names on the list. However, one name sticks out to me in particular. This particular prospect also has connections with new Cornhuskers assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih. St. John’s, the previous school he coached at, also offered this prospect.

Coming from the 2021 recruiting class, forward Josh Taylor is ready to make an impact at the collegiate level. He is the 43rd overall prospect in his class, the 12th overall power forward, and the third player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He is a force to be reckoned with inside, as the six-foot-eight power forward currently plays at Greensboro Day School in North Carolina. Other teams have offered Taylor as well. The list is not too shabby with LSU, TCU and Texas Tech extending him offers. Virginia and Auburn are also interested. For reference, they are in the Final Four right now. If they could add someone like Taylor to their roster, it would make them even more dominant in years to come. I’m sure the rest of college basketball is overjoyed to hear that prediction.

He would perhaps be the crown jewel of the Nebraska 2021 class if he were to commit there. This would also be a staple commitment for Hoiberg as he looks to bring  Nebraska Basketball back to the NCAA tournament. Currently, the 2021 Nebraska Basketball class has no commitments, but that should change shortly. If Taylor were to commit to Nebraska, he would give them additional length and scoring ability.

dark. Next. Potential breakout stars at linebacker

Fred Hoiberg is hitting the ground running as he looks to make the program his own. It is not going to be an easy task fitting all the pieces together. If he can successfully do so, the Nebraska Basketball program will be back to their winning ways in no time.
