The Fred Hoiberg era has officially begun. With his introductory press conference happening on Tuesday, there was a lot to take away from it. One thing is clear: this Nebraska Basketball team will look a heck of a lot different next season. Hoiberg has been around the block in the basketball circles. He knows what it takes to win, and he made that evident on Tuesday.
With Hoiberg’s demeanor and desire to win, then Nebraska Basketball team should come out firing on all cylinders next October. Obviously, I wouldn’t be surprised if they struggled a bit, but one thing is certain: Hoiberg is going to have them compete. That is exactly the type of coach this team needs moving forward. With many young players taking the reins from the departed seniors, the Cornhuskers are going to have a change of identity. It will truly be a new era in many ways, and not just because of the fact that the program hired a new basketball coach.
With Tuesday’s press conference offering many interesting tidbits, I take a look at the top three things that occurred that made me excited and hopeful for the future. There was a lot to unpack and it was not easy to decide. I gave it my best shot.
