Brian Branch

Brian Branch is perhaps one of the bigger names on the list. Nebraska Football extended him an offer on Tuesday, and they are not the only team that has done so. He is a highly-touted safety who should succeed in any program he plays and. This is one of those situations where Nebraska Football will have to compete with the programs of more prestige in order to get Branch to commit.

The 2020 safety from Tyrone, Georgia is a four-star commitment. He is ranked No. 227 nationally, the 17th overall safety in his class, and the 24th overall player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition to Nebraska, he has offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Duke, East Carolina, and Oklahoma. The bottom line is, there are a lot of teams interested in what he brings to the table. He is set to visit Oklahoma on April 12.

If he were to commit to Nebraska Football, what would he be able to bring to the table? He brings his ability to be a ball-hawking safety. In 2018, he tallied 58 tackles, five interceptions, and six pass breakups. He also proved to be a weapon on the offensive end, totaling 360 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He would fit nicely with the Nebraska Football defense, as they look to play more aggressively under new defensive line coach Tony Tuioti. Especially with the game of football becoming more of a passing entity, having a  safety that can read and react to passing plays is a tremendous asset. It will be interesting to see if Nebraska Football can beat out the other big-time schools for Branch.
