Eric Shaw

Nebraska Football was busy on the recruiting trail this week,  and they extended an offer to a playmaker from Alabama. Eric Shaw was offered by the program. He is labeled as an athlete in the 2020 class, and is a three-star prospect. Hailing from Reeltown High School, Shaw, a safety, has several big-time offers on the table.

Auburn, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Central Michigan, and Georgia Tech are just some of the names that have reached out to Shaw. He is ranked No. 389 in his class, the 23rd overall athlete, and the 18th overall player in his class from the state of Alabama per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has one prediction on where Shaw will play his collegiate football. Auburn would be the lucky team to get his services. Obviously we are still very early in the recruiting process, but the Crystal Ball is a very accurate predictor of where a recruit is usually going to go.

What could he bring to Nebraska Football? He is a strong wide receiver, and has great hands. Measuring in at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, he is a matchup nightmare for defenders. Once he catches the ball, he has the ability to bulldoze over a defender. His strength makes him tough to bring down and he could give Nebraska Football someone that they could count on as a possession receiver. He is not the fastest, but his strength and catching ability make up for it. He has a great knack of being able to reach over the defender for a football, and that will certainly be able to be an asset in the Big 10. Despite his great receiving skills, that doesn’t necessarily mean that if he were to commit to Nebraska that head coach Scott Frost would put them there. However, if he were to commit to Nebraska, that would be the best possible option as he could maximize his skill set there.
