Vedral is trying to pick up where he left off for Nebraska Football.

When we talk about the Nebraska Football quarterbacks, names like Adrian Martinez and Luke McCaffrey will always seem to pop up. One quarterback who hasn’t necessarily gotten as much fanfare is Noah Vedral. On this site, we have talked about him a bit, but other than that there has not been too much insight into how he has handled spring ball practices. Friday, good news about Vedral emerged.

Spring ball is always a great time to see where the players on the team are at. For Nebraska Football, they have a lot of players that did not fare well last year or who did not get a fair chance to show the kind of skills that they have. Vedral would fall into that category. After jumping through hoops in regards to his transfer process and only seeing the field sparingly against Bethune-Cookman last October, he did not get a chance to show Scott Frost and the rest of the program what he could do. After coming to the Nebraska football program with Frost last year, he now has a spring ball to get his feet under him again and provide a contribution to the team in 2019.

So far, it sounds like things have been going well for him. He has not seemed to suffer any regression in terms of skills according to a report from Mike Schaefer of 247Sports. Rather, he seems to have managed to retain what he accomplished last year, putting him in a good position to build on it. As a Nebraska football fan, that has to be encouraging to hear.

"“We put him in the spring game last year and we probably shouldn’t have done that, not a good decision on my part,” Mario Verduzco said. “Then we put him in against Bethune-Cookman and that’s obviously a challenge. He’s in with a different group of guys. That can be challenging, but he’s a lot more settled. Even from an emotional standpoint. He’s doing really well.”“He’s grown just in terms of where his eye balls belong and his decision making,” he said. “Going through last year and now, he’s kind of starting where he left off. He’s only going to get better.”"

Truthfully, I do not think he will see the field much in 2019. Martinez will obviously get the bulk of the snaps and in the unfortunate chance he gets hurt, we will probably see the second-string quarterback fill in. Who that will be we’re not sure yet, but we should be able to get a clearer picture by the time training camp begins. Unfortunately for Vedral, he will probably not get the call.

It is encouraging to know that he is making progress however. That will only help him stand out in what is a tight quarterback battle. There is a lot of talent at that position, and he will certainly have his work cut out for him.
