How will Tim Miles coach?
I am most interested to see how head coach Tim Miles does during this tournament. Will he coach strictly? Will he be free and loose? With rumors of a replacement head coach starting to become concrete, Miles looks to be on his way out of Lincoln.
Of course, Miles will draw up plays for his team. That is not what I will be watching for the most. What I will be watching for is if he will give control to his players. In Friday’s game against Wisconsin, he wanted to let the players find their shots. That was certainly a bold strategy, and it ultimately did not pay off as they would end up losing to the Badgers. However, it was still important that he put trust in an experienced group. At the end of the day, it is very important to have trust in your players.
With this being the end of the line for many people including Miles, I wonder if we will see a more relaxed coach. What is he got to lose? He has the opportunity to end his Nebraska tenure as an NIT champion. Although that may not sound as good as being a national champion, it is certainly something to build off of, especially for a program that needs to be able to show they can compete with the bigger programs in college basketball
