Gaye would be a major get for Nebraska Football.

Nebraska football continues to explore the junior-college circuit, and earlier this week was no different. Thursday, the program offered 2020 strong side defensive end Ali Gaye ($)

Gaye is not ranked in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. With that being said, he does have many teams interested in him. In addition to Nebraska, Kansas State has also extended him an offer. Oregon State, Washington, and Washington State are also interested in him

Measuring in at six-foot-seven, 270 pounds, Gaye is truly a force to be reckoned with. When you watch his film, he truly can overpower his man. One of his assets is his ability to shed blocks. He may not always get to the quarterback right away, but he can disrupt a play with ease. He can move his man back enough to be able to disrupt the rhythm of the offense. When he is able to get to the quarterback, he wraps him up nicely and makes a solid tackle.

What could he bring to the Nebraska football program? For one, he could bring his ability to make offenses uncomfortable. Whether it be trying to get into the backfield or sacking the quarterback, he truly is a nightmare for offensive lines. In a conference such as the Big Ten, a player like that is certainly necessary. If you do not disrupt the rhythm of these offenses, it could be a long afternoon. This is a player that could start right away for the program and potentially be a huge asset.

Currently, the 2020 Nebraska football recruiting class is shaping up nicely. Although they only have one commitment, it is quarterback Logan Smothers. The dual-threat quarterback is a three-star recruit. He should be able to help Nebraska Football in the future. If Nebraska was to add Gaye to the mix, they would have two very solid recruits to bring to the 2020 class. Not only that, that would give them a head start moving forward as they now need to look towards the future.

It is good to see Nebraska football offering players that they think  can make an impact. Especially with the way the game is trending, adding defensive players that can potentially come in and play right away is crucial. Scott Frost is not afraid to take chances on the recruiting trail and that should be able to help the team moving forward. Nebraska football is certainly trending in the right direction.
