Nebraska Football continues to try to find impact players.

Nebraska football continues to be busy on the recruiting trail, specifically looking for offensive lineman. Earlier this week, Scott Frost and the program extended an offer ($) to  2020 three-star prospect Xavier Hill. The six-foot-three, 325-pound guard hails from Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Hill is the 568th overall player in his class, the 26th overall guard, and the 11th overall player in the state of Mississippi per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Nebraska football certainly has some competition in his recruitment. Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee are just some of the schools Nebraska football has to compete against. However, if there is one thing we have learned from Scott Frost, it is that he and his staff are not afraid to compete with some of the bigger programs on the recruiting trail.

He has seen the most action in his recruiting process from Alabama. He attended their Junior Day on February 16 and was offered by the program the same day. His most recent offer came courtesy of Auburn on February 18. Clearly, the SEC schools like what they see from him.

What could he bring to Nebraska football? For one he is a very good run-blocker. When you watch his film, one of the things he excels at is being able to pull his defender out of the running lanes. He does it quickly too, allowing the running back to hit the hole immediately. He does a great job of getting the first step on his man, not allowing himself to be overpowered by the rush and staying firm in his stance.

This could definitely help Nebraska football down the road as they have a slew of running backs that will be able to make big plays at any given time. Having a lineman that can make life easier on the running backs and create holes with ease should be able to lead to success. You have heard us and other media outlets talk extensively about the quarterbacks. The running backs are a huge part of the offense as well, and they are important as they will be able to take the workload off the guy under center.

It will be interesting to see if Nebraska football can land Hill. There are many prestigious schools that are looking to add him to the program, and Nebraska football is certainly the underdog here. However, Frost has shown that he is committed to building a successful team and for that, I do not mind him trying to get the best players possible. He wants to build a winning culture in Lincoln and it starts with being able to land top prospects.
