Tyronn Lue

You don’t have to tell me that hiring Lue, a former NBA champion as a head coach and a three-time NBA finalist would be a long shot.

However, since Lue is easily one of the greatest players in the history of Nebraska basketball, it’s possible he could take a break from pro ball to coach college hoops for a few years.

Certainly, the money would need to be big and that along with his interest in returning to the NBA, possibly even the Lakers if that job opens up, could be the biggest hurdles to hiring him, yet, he would just be too perfect not to mention.

Former NBA coaches and players seem to do well recruiting and the fact that Lue coached LeBron to an NBA championship would, one would think, help the Huskers get a foot in the door with more recruits than before.

In all reality, this is a long, long shot. However, Nebraska basketball does have a nice arena and being in the Big Ten has helped get this program more recognition. With the right coach, there is potential and Lue is one of the guys that could help the Huskers realize it.
