Tanner Farmer shines, rises his draft stock
Tanner Farmer is a name people should keep an eye on as well. He fell into the same category as a Ozigbo, as people were wondering why he was not invited to the combine either. Nevertheless, he took part in Nebraska football’s Pro Day and showed exactly what he is made of. If anything, his stock might have rose the most out of anyone at this combine.
According to Gabriel’s report, Farmer had a tremendous day on the bench. He did 39 reps on the bench press and that would have been tops at the NFL Combine last week. As Farmer himself noted, last week was the first week that he had benched over the course of the last month. All things considered, 39 reps is nothing to scoff at. Imagine the numbers he will put up when he has a full couple of weeks to recover from the injury.
According to reports from DraftScout.com, he is the 37th ranked card out of 150. He does not have a projected round yet. However, with his performance on Thursday, there is no doubt his stock will rise. He really benefited from this Pro Day all things considered. Now, NFL scouts and teams will have information to work with as they are making their decisions. Again, it comes down to the fact that the National Football League is a passing league. A guard could definitely be used these days and there are plenty of teams that need offensive line help. Farmer could be the missing piece for many lines, especially once he gets back to maximum health.
