Nebraska Football extended an offer to a dynamic cornerback on Sunday.
The Nebraska football program has proven they can find diamonds in the rough when it comes to recruiting the junior and community college circuit. Sunday was no different as they extended an offer to a player with tremendous potential. Art Green of Hutchinson Community College announced via his Twitter page that Nebraska football had extended an offer his way. The 2020 cornerback is certainly an intriguing prospect.
He currently is not ranked by 247Sports, and has been recruited by several schools on a smaller scale. Arkansas State, Houston, Illinois, Louisville, Massachusetts, Rutgers, South Carolina, and Tennessee have all extended office his way in addition to Nebraska football. Arkansas State and Massachusetts are the two schools that I would say would be on the smaller scale. It’s interesting to look at the wide variety of offers he has. Nebraska football should certainly consider themselves very much in the mix.

Green was part of a Blue Dragons team that finished eighth overall in the NJCAA rankings at the end of the 2018 season. He appeared in eight games recording 19 tackles and tallying an impressive six interceptions. He also broke up six passes and blocked a kick. He truly was an integral part of their defense, and he looks to bring his talents to the NCAA. He very much has earned the opportunity. Perhaps the most impressive part of these statistics is that he was a freshman on the field last year.
What could he bring to Nebraska football? His athleticism is certainly something to be noticed. He is very good at reading the play and seeing where the ball is thrown. Once he recognizes it, he can use his speed and athleticism to make a play on the ball. His field vision is something that is very impressive. I would almost go as far to say that he would be an immediate starter on some teams. It will be interesting to see who else he gets offered by during the recruiting process. The teams that are listed above will certainly not be the only ones to do so.
Nebraska football is making themselves known on the recruiting trail. The fact that they are delving into the junior and community college ranks is a great thing. There are a lot of talented players there, and if Nebraska can build a good reputation as one of the top schools to get talent from there, that can only help the program. Many of these players are certainly worth taking a flyer on. It appears that Scott Frost is not afraid to do so.
