Noa Pola-Gates bring versatility to secondary

There are a lot of prospects to be excited about in this 2019 recruiting class for the Huskers, but one guy on defense that I absolutely love is Noa Pola-Gates a four-star defensive back.

Nebraska football landed Pola-Gates out of Arizona and he could be a cornerback or safety for the Huskers at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. He played in the All-American Bowl with Robinson and I was impressed with his ability to cover a shifty receiver like that out of the slot.

While the Huskers have two solid guys that should start in Lamar Jackson and Dicaprio Bootle and Deontai Williams, as well as another potential starter in Jojo Domann, they don’t really have anyone quite like Pola-Gates.

He is physical enough to be a starting safety, but also quick enough to play corner, at least in the slot. He’s not the biggest guy but who better than Pola-Gates to try and cover someone like Moore? In the world of the spread offense, guys like that are becoming more and more prevalent and Nebraska football has to find a way to stop them.

Playing a guy like Pola-Gates, who would be ideal as a starting slot corner is a great way to start.
