Are the Huskers starting to take shape?

Last season, following the Huskers loss to Iowa, Frost addressed the media and told them that Iowa was basically, bigger, stronger and tougher. He also vowed that would change and spring football is going to give us the first chance to see if it has.

There are a couple of things that go into the transformation of a program, especially if you are wanting to get bigger and tougher. One part of that is recruiting and getting players that are bigger and stronger.

Another aspect of it though is strength training and that has been a huge focus for the Nebraska football program. Frost wants his team to be tough, like the old-school Husker teams, such as the 1997 team Frost quarterbacked to the national championship.

Building that toughness isn’t easy and it takes more than the weight room. While the Huskers have been pushed there, I’d expect Frost to push just as hard on the field during spring practice and by the time the game rolls around in April, we should know how that transition is going.
