Nebraska football will open spring practices Monday and are three things to watch with the Huskers as they get ready to hit the field again.

If things had gone better with the Huskers on the hardwood and the hoops team still had a shot at March Madness, maybe Nebraska football fans wouldn’t be so focused on spring football.

Of course, if you know Nebraska football fans, that statement is rather silly. The truth is, the Nebraska faithful live on football and as soon as the Big Red announced their spring game date, it didn’t take long for it to sell out.

And who could blame Nebraska fans for getting excited? For the first time since Tom Osborne, the fans have a coach they feel they can believe in and even if some of the expectations are rising quite rapidly, it certainly feels like Scott Frost is the man for the job.

Frost put together a really solid recruiting class in 2019 and some of those guys will be making their debuts next week in practice. That of course, is always going to cause excitement and who doesn’t want to catch a glimpse of Wandale Robinson?

Incoming freshmen are one reason to be excited but there are lots of others. Nebraska has no shortage of position battles and there are also plenty of young guys that are itching for a chance to work their way up the depth chart.

Essentially, this is Frost’s first full season as head coach and here are three things to watch as he gets set for his second run of spring practices.
