Nebraska football fans won’t have to wait much longer for spring practices to begin as they are set to start March 4.

When it comes to the 2019 Nebraska football team, Husker fans are incredibly excited. They also won’t have to wait long to catch the first glimpse of Big Red as spring practice is set to start next week.

The University announced the schedule recently and according to a post by Corn Nation which has the entire schedule laid out, Nebraska football will take the field Monday morning and it looks as though head coach Scott Frost will have three practices a week.

The Huskers will practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, starting next week. There is also scheduled to be a media availability March 5 with some players and coaches addressing local media.

Unfortunately for Nebraska football fans, the first week of practice is closed to the media, however, there will be three different occasions where fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the team thanks to 30 minutes of practice that will be open to the media.

Those three days will be March 13, March 27 and April 3. The spring game, which will give fans the longest extended look at the Huskers, will be April 13 at 1 p.m.

Of course, when it comes to spring practice, there are a number of things to look forward to including quarterback Adrian Martinez who will take part in his first spring for the Huskers. Incoming freshman Luke McCaffrey, who enrolled early will also be taking his first snaps.

Another freshman that plenty of Nebraska football fans will want to see for the first time is running back/wide receiver Wandale Robinson, who is among seven freshmen that are enrolling early and will be participating in spring practices.

The others are linebacker Nick Henrich, wide receiver Jaime Nance, tight end Chris Hickman, defensive end Garrett Nelson and offensive tackle Brant Banks. The workouts will also give us some clarity at positions where there is going to be competition for playing time such as wide receiver, running back, offensive line and defensive line.

Spring football is always a big deal in Nebraska. So that isn’t a big change. However, there is a lot of excitement surrounding this team and with the late-season collapse of the basketball team, it looks like all attention will be on football, even if its just a few weeks of spring practice.
