Nebraska football will need to hire a defensive line coach soon and with some rumors spreading on the internet, it looks like it will happen soon.

Ever since Mike Dawson left the Nebraska football program for the NFL, the Huskers have been searching for a replacement to coach their defensive line.

The news coming out about the search has been slow and for the most part, there has been little movement or even speculation about who it might be, outside of a few familiar names that just about everyone threw out there like John Parrella, who is now with the Browns.

However, in the last couple of days, rumors have started to swirl and the first one had to do with Craig Kuligowski, who coached the Alabama defensive line last season.

Kuligowski is still listed as the Crismon Tide’s defensive line coach, but according to a report last month by Saturday Down South, he is on his way out. The report also notes that the Tide have been looking at other options as a replacement.

Now, just because Kuligowski is reportedly going to be without a job, doesn’t necessarily mean there is a connection between him and Nebraska football, although, if you look at his Twitter account and some of the posts he has liked, it seems he might, at the very least, be expressing a veiled interest to the Huskers in their opening.

The Twitter Page Huskers Talk did a little digging there and found Kuligowski liking a number of different Nebraska football posts, which does seem rather interesting, considering he is still technically a member of the Alabama staff.

In addition, Sean Callahan, a trusted Nebraska football reporter for rivals also teased this information that the Huskers might be closing in on a coaching hire, however, the information is behind a paywall.

Either way, it seems like the coaching search is heating up and even if Kuligowski is not a candidate, he would be a great addition. Whoever it ends up being, the Huskers just need to make a move soon because spring football is about to start and a defensive line coach is needed.
