Dedrick Mills or another back will reach 1,000

Behind a solid offensive line, Ozigbo put together his finest season as a Husker in 2019, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark and giving his offensive line something to be proud of.

Certainly, Nebraska football doesn’t have the same five guys it did last season following the graduation of Jerald Foster and Tanner Farmer. That means the Huskers are going to have some work to do, but with some talented offensive line prospects ready to step up and with Frost calling the plays, it’s a good bet they will get a back 1,000 yards.

If Mills can stay out of trouble and play the same role that Ozigo did last season, that could open the door right there. Wandale Robinson and Maurice Washington are other names in the backfield that could make an impact.

While all of the backs will get touches, one person removed himself from that pack last season and that was Ozigbo, who established himself as the bell-cow. Look for one of these guys to do that this year, maybe even incoming freshman Rahmir Johnson.

With Martinez ability to run and a solid group up front, Nebraska’s running backs should be in a perfect position and whoever emerges as the guy should have a good shot at 1,000 yards.
