Nebraska will be locked in a battle with Penn State
Penn State may have a terrible record, but there is a reason why its ranked as the No. 70 team in the NET rankings and 58th according to the Kenpom rankings. Penn State has two top-16 wins and both came at home against Virginia Tech and Michigan last week.
The bottom line is that Penn State has been a tough team to beat and even though it is just 2-6 in its last eight games, the Nittany Lions have lost only once by double digits and that was Saturday against Purdue in a competitive game.
Beyond that, the Nittany Lions also took the Boilermakers to overtime at home, while also playing tight games with Ohio State and Iowa. One reason Penn State is so tough is forward Lamar Stevens, who averages 19.2 points and eight rebounds per game. Slowing him down, which will likely be Isaiah Roby‘s job, will be essential.
In addition to Stevens, who is one of the top scorers in the Big Ten, Penn State also has Rasir Bolton and Josh Reaves, who each average in double figures. Myles Dread is another name to watch and he has been coming on recently.
Penn State is tough and it’s a more talented team than people realize, which means winning in Happy Valley tonight will be anything but easy.
