Nebraska basketball extended an offer to a player who is dominating every court he is playing on.
Monday, Nebraska basketball extended an offer to a recruit who has really seen his stock rise over the past couple of weeks. David Skogman received an offer from the program, adding to his list of several programs who are already vying for his services.
In addition to Nebraska, he has also received offers from Minnesota, Rutgers, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt. He would certainly be a star recruit in what is a very small 2019 class at the moment for Nebraska. So far, the program has three commitments, all of whom have signed.

Skogman has certainly had a whirlwind of a basketball career to this point. In a summer league game that took place last year, he collapsed on the court and had to be shocked back to life. It was a truly scary situation, and many were wondering if he would ever have the opportunity to play basketball again. Now, as a result of his skill and hard work, programs are lining up to offer him a chance to play for them.
What would he bring to Nebraska basketball? For one, he would bring them the rebounding presence that they so desperately need. Tanner Borchardt has done an admirable job trying to fill that void, but he has quite frankly been outmuscled in some games. Nebraska basketball needs a true rebounder that will allow them to get second-chance opportunities. Too many times this season, Nebraska basketball has lost games because of their inability to rebound.
Skogman has been flying high. He has had a great month of February, one that has seen him put up 38 points, and allowed him to move past the 1000 point-plateau. It is truly remarkable how far he has come. From been faced with the potential reality that he may never play basketball again, to now having top Division I programs line up for the chance to offer a scholarship, he has come full circle in the best way.
He is a multi-tool player, something that is a coach’s dream. Nebraska basketball has always had their fair share of scorers, but not enough rebounders. Bringing Skogman into the program would be a literal game-changer. He has that type of playstyle and potential. This would be a huge get for Tim Miles and the basketball program, but they will certainly have their work cut out for them. Who knows, it could all be worth it in the end.
