Palmer is still struggling offensively
After a really strong game against Minnesota in which he knocked down 7-of-10 field goals, Palmer put together an ugly offensive outing against Northwestern.
The Huskers best weapon was limited to just 13 points and he made just 3-of-17 from the field. For weeks, Palmer has been struggling and over his past five games, he has only made 32 percent of his shots from the field.
During that stretch, Palmer has continued to score and even has two 20-point games including the 24 points he poured in against the Gophers. However, last night, his inability to score against a tough Northwestern defense is part of the reason the game was so close for so long.
Regardless, Nebraska found a way to win, but if the Huskers are going to beat Penn State and then win two or three games against a stretch of four ranked opponents in a row, Palmer is going to need to be much better than he has been in recent weeks.
