Robinson will add quality depth early

Ty Robinson was another big get for the Huskers and the 6-foot-5 defensive should be able to help Nebraska football in more ways that one.

For starters, the Huskers do need to find some better pass rushers. They finished last season with 25 total, which ranked in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten. Robinson, who is no. 12 defensive end in the nation should have a chance to contribute in that capacity, however, he could also contribute as a run defender.

The pass defense certainly was a concern for Nebraska last season, but the run defense was probably worse. Who else remembers Frost talking about how Nebraska was pushed around by an Iowa team that was bigger and stronger.

He said he wanted to change that and guys like Robinson are a good first step. The incoming freshman likely won’t be the Huskers top defensive lineman but he should be in the rotation and right away, he should help make the run defense better.
