This commitment is a great get for Nebraska Football.

This is a big get for Nebraska football. For one, it gives another weapon for quarterback Adrian Martinez to throw to. Houston may not be the fastest wide receiver on the field, but he does really well in specific areas. Particularly in his footwork and the way he can confuse defensive backs with his movement off the line of scrimmage, he could be a very popular target for Nebraska football in the years to come.
Given the fact that he was originally committed to Texas back in the summer of 2018, this is an especially big get for Nebraska football. Again, this is proof that they are willing to go toe-to-toe with some of the biggest college football programs in the nation. In terms of what prestige and championships mean to high school players, for some that is pretty high on the list. Nebraska football certainly has a great tradition, and they look to be adding to it with this commitment.
Nebraska football already has four wide receivers in the 2019 class, and this is certainly a great addition. Nebraska football’s 2019 recruiting class is ranked No. 19 nationally and fourth in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. They are certainly improving as a program, especially in recruiting. Last year, the Nebraska football class was ranked 23rd in the nation. This year, Scott Frost has done a great job of getting impact players and as expected, the class rankings reflect that.
It will be interesting to see what else comes Nebraska football’s way on Wednesday. The program did the majority of their work during the early Signing Day in December. Honestly, that makes for a much more relaxed Signing Day knowing that that the Cornhuskers have a bunch of impact players already in the fold.
Wednesday will be about filling in holes and landing a couple impact recruits. In my estimation, this is a very good thing. Now, we’ll have to wait and see who else comes to Lincoln as Scott Frost continues to perfect his class. Houston is certainly going to be part of the equation in the coming years.
