Nebraska Football would be wise to keep their eyes on Houston.
The first week of February always feels like Christmas has come early for college football fans. National Signing Day will be occurring on Wednesday, and Nebraska football is certainly still in the mix for top recruits. One of them is wide receiver Demariyon Houston , who is said to be favoring Nebraska. He made the announcement of when he would sign on Monday evening.
Houston is the No. 319 player in his class, the No. 39 wide receiver and the sixth-ranked overall player from the state of Oklahoma per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to Nebraska football, he also has offers from Colorado, Minnesota, Texas, and Penn State on his radar. He visited Nebraska on January 18 and is being recruited by running backs coach Ryan Held and offensive coordinator Troy Walters.
As some of you may recall, he decommitted from Texas in December after having been committed there since July 2018.
What would he bring to the Nebraska football program? For one, he is very good at being able to run a route and then come back to the football, thereby getting in front of the defender. He uses his quick feet to be able to change direction on a route in order for the defender to miss. He also shoots out of his break very quickly, forcing the cornerback to be alert at all times. He would be a nice, shifty weapon for the Nebraska football program and he would certainly be able to see playing time right away.
Nebraska football is certainly a dark horse candidate in his recruitment, but the huskers have been able to land several of those types of recruits. Head coach Scott Frost has shown that he is not afraid to compete against the bigger schools for recruiting. If he sees a player he likes, he is going to try his best to get him to come to Lincoln. So far, that philosophy has worked out pretty well and it will be interesting to see how many more recruits come on Signing Day.
One thing is for certain. He will commit and then sign immediately. If Nebraska football can land him, he will be a great addition to a wide receiving group that already has a fair amount of talent. That will just give another weapon for Adrian Martinez to throw to, and that is a dangerous proposition for the rest of the Big Ten Conference.
