Huskers trying to expand territory
Another big focus for Nebraska football this weekend was trying to expand its territory and one of the areas where the coaching staff is focusing on is St. Louis, Missouri, which could be a fertile ground that hasn’t paid off much for the Huskers in recent years.
Well, over the weekend, the Huskers hosted a pair of four-star recruits from St. Louis powerhouse Trinity Catholic. One of them was Mookie Cooper, a four-star athlete that is rated as a top-100 prospect in 2020. He is currently projected by 247 sports to go to Texas.
The other name is Reggie Love, a four-star running back from the same school that ranks 332nd overall but is the No. 23 running back in 2020. Notre Dame is the biggest school to show interest in him and the Irish have been working to land him, but outside of that, Nebraska would be his biggest offer to this point.
On top of that, Nebraska also hosted players from the talent-rich states of California in Jeffery Presi and Florida defensive lineman Cooper Davis. Presi is a three-star offensive tackle that the Huskers have offered, while Davis is a 6-foot-7 defensive end from 2020 that doesn’t have a star rating yet.
