Dedrick Mills

Dedrick Mills is an interesting case, and his spot on this list could be interchangeable by the time preseason camp begins. He has enough talent to be the second running back on this list, and I think there is a very good chance that he could be number two on the depth chart.

When you watch his highlights,  he is an interesting running back. He has the speed to get to the edge on counter plays, but he also has enough power to bulldoze his way to the end zone. The combination of those two skill sets were why he was so successful in 2016 with Georgia Tech. He carried the ball 100 times for 771 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition, he averaged 5.1 yards per carry. His best game of the 2016 campaign came on December 31 against Kentucky in the TaxSlayer Bowl. He carried the ball 31 times for 169 yards and a touchdown. If he can bring those same type of performances to Nebraska, Nebraska football will be in good shape.

Mills has the potential to be the starting running back by the time the season begins. It all depends on how others on this list fair. Honestly, each of these running backs have starting running back potential. Mills has experience both playing during the regular season and for a bowl game. On a team full of youth, that certainly counts for something.
