After three days off following Saturday’s loss to Ohio State,  Nebraska basketball continues conference play at home against  Wisconsin.

Nebraska basketball looks to reclaim their winning ways against 24th-ranked Wisconsin on Tuesday night. Wisconsin has been playing better basketball as of late, while Nebraska has really begun to slide. Now, they will turn to their home court of Pinnacle Bank Arena to try and right the ship before it’s too late.

Wisconsin has been playing solid basketball, winning their last three contests. Their most recent win came against Northwestern on Saturday. Senior forward Ethan Happ led the way for the Badgers in this one. He went 6-of 15 from the field and missed his only three-point shot. However, he managed to tally 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists in 33 minutes of play. A triple-double at any level is impressive and Happ that the job done. Sophomore guards Brad Davison and D’Mitrik Trice also provided additional scoring support for Wisconsin. They scored 18 points apiece and the Badgers had a nice triple threat going as they beat the Wildcats by a 62-46 margin.

In the meantime, Nebraska basketball fell at the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes by a 70-60 score. James Palmer led the way for the Cornhuskers in this one. In 36 minutes of action,  he went 7-of 17 from the field and three-of-six from behind the arc. He also contributed three rebounds and four assists. Glenn Watson was another bright spot in what was a disappointing game for Nebraska. In 32 minutes of action, he went five-of 10 from the field and  made one three-pointer in four attempts. He finished with 18 points. Even still, it was not enough to prevent Nebraska from losing their second game in a row.

According to the Kenpom rankings, Nebraska is slotted No. 17 in the rankings while Wisconsin is slated at the No. 11 spot. Simply put, this will not be an easy game.

Key to the Game

Nebraska basketball has to be careful of the three-point shot. Wisconsin has the top mark in the conference terms of three-point field goal percentage. In 20 games,  they have recorded a .399 mark. On the defensive end, Nebraska basketball is the best in the conference at defending the three-point shot. They have only allowed 104 shots in 361 attempts. That breaks down to a. 288 percentage. It will be strength against strength in this particular area. Nebraska basketball needs to make sure that they have sound perimeter defense, or else it could be a long evening (yet again) for them.
