Nebraska football recruiting target Charles Njoku is set to make his decision between the Huskers and UCLA Friday, Jan. 25.

Charles Njoku is one of the top remaining targets for the Nebraska football program when it comes to the 2019 recruiting class and the four-star wide receiver announced his decision date Thursday on his Twitter account.

Njoku, who visited Nebraska football and UCLA the past two weeks, will decide between the Huskers and the Bruins Friday night. The 6-foot-5 wide receiver, who also weighs in at 200 pounds would add yet another talented pass catcher to NU’s 2019 class.

Right now, according to 247 sports, the Huskers own a majority of Njoku’s crystal ball predictions with 67 percent of them projecting the New Jersey wide receiver to wind up committing to Nebraska.

However, by 7 PM EST Friday night, both Nebraska and UCLA will know where the talented wideout is going.

Currently, Nebraska football has the 19th-ranked recruiting class according to 247 sports and the Huskers just added a four-star defensive back this past week in Noa Pola-Gates. While a lot of schools have been resting on their laurels after the early-signing period, Nebraska has been pushing hard to add a few more players to its overall haul.

And while the Huskers have a lot of talented offensive players, including at wide receiver with JD Spielman and Mike Williams, pass catcher is a need and more than anything, a big-bodied receiver like Njoku could give Nebraska football the kind of wideout is doesn’t currently have on the roster.

One thing about Njoku is that he appears to like the idea of playing in an up-tempo offense. Both the Bruins under Chip Kelly and the Huskers under head coach Scott Frost run high-octane offenses that want to run a lot of plays and push the ball down the field.

However, one advantage for Nebraska football coach be quarterback Adrian Martinez who looks like a star in the making. Some have already mentioned him as a Heisman Trophy candidate.

Certainly, there is a lot that goes into a decision like this, but if the head coach and QB are a big factor in the final decision, then you have to feel like the Huskers are in pretty good shape.
