Can Tim Miles get Huskers over the hump?

You have to give Miles a lot of credit. He has been building Nebraska basketball and even with the move to the Big Ten, the Huskers have become a solid program in a really good basketball conference.

But is that enough?

At some point, Miles and the Huskers need to stack success. Not like he hasn’t in the past, however, he needs to win more big games. It was great beating Creighton this season and also Clemson and Indiana, a ranked team, on the road.

Miles deserves credit for that and those wins will likely get this team into the NCAA tournament if it can at least finish .500 in the conference. Yet, a win over Michigan State could have pushed this team into the race for the top 4-5 spots in the Big Ten. It also would have been a huge help for NCAA seeding.

A win also would have made it much harder to keep this Nebraska team out of the field of 68. The Huskers had some good wins last season but never a signature one that reinforced that they deserved to make it.

Beating Michigan State would have given this team one of those wins, but an inability to finish offensively cost the Huskers and Miles once again.
