Huskers look the part
Nebraska basketball didn’t beat Michigan State Thursday night but at no point during the game did the Spartans out-class the Huskers. in fact, you could see that talent wise, Nebraska can hang with upper-echelon teams
Although the Huskers weren’t ranked going into the game, they were No. 11 according to Kenpom, which also had Michigan State rated as the third-best team in the nation. Well, after watching the game, those rankings hold up.
Michigan State and Nebraska put on an exciting basketball game and it showed once again just how good the Big Ten is and will be this season. The Spartans kept themselves in position to win the regular season title, while the Huskers are stuck in the middle of the pack after another loss to a quality team. The others in league play came to Maryland, Minnesota and Iowa, all NCAA caliber teams.
The question isn’t talent or ability with Nebraska basketball. It’s whether or not the Huskers can win big games when given the chance. Potential only gets you so far — at some point, there needs to be a result.
