Nebraska basketball has to shoot better from deep

It sounds pretty simple but the bottom line is that if the Huskers are going to beat Big Ten teams on the road, they need to shoot better from behind the 3-point line.

Against Iowa, Nebraska basketball was 4-of-22. In the other loss since the Big Ten restarted to Maryland, the Huskers shot 9-of-23, which is better but overall, that’s just 28 percent, so it’s not a big surprise those games ended in losses.

All together, the Huskers are shooting 32 percent from deep in the last three Big Ten games and just 34 percent in all five, compared to 36 percent overall on the season. At one time this season, the Huskers were shooting well from beyond the arc.

It was a focus going into this year and it’s been a struggle recently. But with Palmer, Watson, Isaiah Roby, James Allen and Isaac Copeland, Nebraska has the talent to turn things around but if it doesn’t start tonight, it’s hard to see the Huskers leaving Indiana with a win.
