Nebraska Football: Four-star Njoku among visitors in crucial weekend
This is a big weekend for Nebraska Football.
The Nebraska football program is in the thick of things on the recruiting trail with four prospects set to take visits this weekend. To put it mildly, there are some big names on the list.
Four-star wide receiver Charles Njoku and four-star outside linebacker Steven Parker are two of the biggest names that will visit this weekend. Both possess tremendous playmaking ability, and both could make an instant impact for Nebraska.

Njoku was set to visit Friday. He was originally committed to the Missouri Tigers, doing so July 29, 2018. He decommitted from the program on November 21. In between that time, he also received an offer from Iowa State on December 5, and is set to visit UCLA on January 18. Lastly, he will also visit Kansas on February 1.
He is not the fastest, but he uses his 6-foot-5 frame to outmuscle the defender and make catches. He could be an instant red zone weapon for Nebraska as well as a target for deep throws. He would make the offense even more explosive.
Parker was offered by Texas Tech on May 3, 2017, committing the day after. He decommitted from the program on December 1. He had a tremendous high school career, notching 191 tackles and 33 sacks in three years of play. He plays aggressively and goes after the quarterback. That is something that could benefit the Nebraska defensive line.
This could be a huge weekend for Nebraska football. They need to make a good impression for these recruits. I know that sounds kind of obvious, but these visits could be crucial. Especially with National Signing Day approaching, anything Nebraska football can do to separate themselves from other programs is important.
Njoku is perhaps the biggest prospect to visit this weekend. Nebraska football desperately needs wide receiver depth after the departure of Stanley Morgan, and they could use an impact playmaker to fill that void. If Scott Frost and his coaching staff can land him, that would be crucial for the future of the program. Nebraska football does have some playmakers on that side of the ball, and JD Spielman will be looked at to carry the load offensively at the wide receiver position. Having another playmaker to assist is important. Njoku is the type of player that can play right away. I suspect that wherever he lands, he will have multiple opportunities to see the field in his first year.
It will be interesting to see how these visits go for the Nebraska football program. There are many talented prospects coming to Lincoln and with the momentum Nebraska has on the recruiting trail, this would be the perfect time to keep it going.
