Nebraska football already has an elite QB/Coach combination

The biggest reason why the Huskers make sense as a trendy national title pick is the combo of Scott Frost and Adrian Martinez. That might seem like oversimplifying things but in college football, you can win a lot of games with an elite coach and a great quarterback.

Frost is still proving himself as Nebraska, but he is already viewed as a big-time coach. Look at what he did at UCF. He went undefeated, won a conference title and won a major bowl game.

Frost has done a tremendous job recruiting at Nebraska and one of his biggest gets is still Martinez, who is also a trendy Heisman pick for 2019. The sophomore-to-be is a dynamic runner, as well as an accurate passer.

Like Frost, he is already one of the top signal callers in the Big Ten and with guys like Maurice Washington and JD Spielman surrounding him, along with the dynamic offensive system for Frost, this offense should be a juggernaut. It already was darn good last season and in 2019, it will take the Big Ten West by storm.

If the Huskers can win their division and lose only one game leading up to the Big Ten championship game, then anything is possible and with Frost and Martinez, who says Nebraska can’t win the west.
