Nebraska wins handily
Nebraska basketball has had its issues on the road but let’s not forget that the Huskers have been dominant at home this season. Their smallest margin of victory was 15 points and that includes wins over Creighton, Seton Hall and Illinois.
Playing at home, in a must-win game against a struggling Penn State team, I see no reason why the Huskers shouldn’t win this game handily. This is the kind of game you have to win if you want to be an NCAA tournament team and frankly, after the way it played in the last two games, Nebraska should be playing with a chip on its shoulder.
Penn State can do some nice things defensively and if Nebraska doesn’t shoot well from deep, it could be a competitive game. But Palmer is going to be hard for the Nittany Lions to stop and on top of that, Nebraska has Isaiah Roby, Glynn Watson and Isaac Copeland.
The talent level isn’t really that close. The Huskers are still the No. 16 team in the country according to Kenpom and it would be nice to see them play up to that level. Against Penn State, with so much on the line, I fully expect that to happen.
Final prediction: Nebraska 79, Penn State 60
