Nebrkaska football fans got a glimpse of the future with Wandale Robinson Saturday and they should be excited about what they saw.

The Nebraska football team had three future Huskers on the field in the All-American Bowl Saturday and while all three stood out, none were better than Wandale Robinson.

Robinson who is one of the top players in the Huskers 2019 recruiting class, saw action as both a running back and wide receiver.

The all-purpose back who is ranked second at his position by 247 sports turned heads early with a 35-yard reception on a screen pass. However, that was far from the only big play by the future Nebraska football star.

When the game was all said and done, Robinson finished with three receptions for 87 yards. He also had one carry for six and got some work doing kickoff returns.

Robinson is a running back, he was listed as a wide receiver in the game and that’s where he got most of his work. And his first catch was on a tunnel screen and he used his ability in the open field to turn the short pass into a big gain.

Robinson also showed how smooth he is as a router runner and catching the football. On one play, he was drilled after a catch by Nebraska football target Noa Pola-Gates. The two had a friendly exchange after and Robinson said he told Pola-Gates he should commit to the Huskers after the hit.

Who knows if that will come to pass or not but it would only add another skill set to Robinson’s loaded repotoire which includes runner, receiver, kick returner and now recruiter.

The other players in action for Nebraska football were Ty Robinson and Bryce Benhart. Benhart is an offensive lineman and he appeared to do a solid job. Robinson didn’t stand out much but it’s hard to judge an All-Star game.

But it looks like the Huskers have added some solid talent, not only in the offensive backfield, but also along the trenches on both sides of the ball.
