Nebraska wins a close one

This game between Nebraska and Maryland should be rather interesting. Both teams defend really well and thrive on attacking the basket. However, Nebraska is a much better 3-point shooting team at 37 percent compared to 33 percent and that could make a big difference.

Another thing that will decide things is extra possessions. Nebraska 17th-best when it comes to taking care of the ball and 85th in forcing turnovers. Maryland ranks 176th in terms of fewest turnovers and when it comes to forcing other teams into turnovers, the Terps are 312th.

If that holds up, Nebraska should have an edge in the turnover battle. Maryland should have the edge on the boards, but as long as the Huskers can hold their own there and win the turnover battle, they should have a good chance of getting a win.

Hopefully, Isaiah Roby will be able to go because missing his 6-foot-8 frame would be a big loss on both ends of the floor. But it feels like he will go and that’s another reason you should feel good about the Huskers in Maryland. All in all, Nebraska is just better than people think and tonight will prove that.

Final score: Nebraska 69, Maryland 66
