Maryland will come out motivated and Nebraska has to weather the storm

The atmosphere tonight should be electric for a game that is really important for both teams. On its home floor, Maryland has to win this game if it wants to contend in the Big Ten and add a good win to its resume, so expect the Terps to come out fired up.

Maryland is a very talented team. As I said, they have lost games, but they were all close. They played Virginia tough and they will be quite the challenge. Maryland is led by guard Anthony Cowan, who scores over 15 points a game and also by 6-foot-10 big man Bruno Fernando who averages more than 14 points and grabs 9.6 rebounds.

Behind Fernando, Maryland is a very good rebounding team, especially on the offensive glass. That will be one of the Huskers biggest challenges. The Terps aren’t a great 3-point shooting team, but they score in the high 70’s. They want to attack the hoop and get the ball inside.

Against a Nebraska team that is size challenged, Fernando should have a good night inside and it wouldn’t be shocking if he had a double-double, however, that might not be enough to beat the Huskers.
