Nebraska Football continues to be on fire on the recruiting trail.
The Nebraska football program will be adding more talent at the quarterback position thanks to the walk-on program. Austin Jablonski, a 2019 recruit who goes to Lincoln Pius X Catholic High School announced his decision to join the program in a tweet on Monday.
Per a report from the Omaha World-Herald, Jablonski will play either receiver or tight end when he gets to Nebraska. He was a very talented quarterback, passing for 1,807 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 592 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

This pledge brings Nebraska’s walk-on class commitment total to 13. There is no denying that this program is thriving under head coach Scott Frost, and one has to wonder how many more commitments the program will pick up via walk-on designation.
Measuring in at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Jablonski at the moment would suit the program better as a tight end. The receivers room is very crowded and while the tight end position is also stocked with talent, they could certainly use another body there. He is not on the taller scale of tight ends, but I think his weight could allow him to be a factor at the position.
Nebraska has more proven talent at the wide receiver position in JD Spielman and Kade Warner, while the tight end position is headlined by Jack Stoll. Stoll showed he had some potential last year, snagging 21 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns. However, those are numbers that can easily be duplicated or replaced with better talent. I think Jablonski could easily slide into the tight end competition in 2019.
This commitment is just an affirmation of the fact that Nebraska is really trying to get some playmakers on the offensive side of the football. Furthermore, it shows that Scott Frost and staff are generating interest in the program. That is the ideal situation. Especially coming off a 4-8 season, great momentum on the recruiting trail whether it be physically recruiting players or getting commitments from walk-ons must be a great feeling. I think recruits are starting to see the potential that Nebraska has as a program.
It seems as if every day, Nebraska lands another commitment. Can they keep this pace up? My guess is yes. If they can continue at the pace they are on, they will be in even better shape come National Signing Day in February. Things can only go up from here.
