Nebraska football got started on a great recruiting class on early national signing day and here are three key takeaways from who has signed so far.

The truth is when it comes to Nebraska football and recruiting, the Huskers are far from finished. Yet, it is also true that most of the 2019 class is signed and locked up.

This is the world now of college football recruiting. The day the early signing period begins has basically become the new signing day. The one in February will matter for a few teams and a few players but for all intents and purposes, national signing day was last Wednesday.

So how did Nebraska do?

That’s the big question and overall, you would have to say the Huskers did pretty well. For starters, they notched the best recruiting class in the Big Ten West and if that’s not the goal each cycle than I don’t know what is.

Having the best class in the Big Ten should be the goal eventually, but not right now. The Huskers need to conquer the West first and this group of 2019 recruits is a good start.

There are lots of things we learned from this class but one is that Frost is getting Nebraska football into a lot more living rooms and he is doing it all over the country. He is also pulling out all the stops like sending every coach he had to visit Ty Robinson Arizona, knowing that Alabama was selling him.

Frost did some great work and while it isn’t done yet — there are still two months before the 2019 recruiting class is completely finalized — here are three key takeaways from the 2019 class.
