4-star safety Noa Pola-Gates

Noa Pola-Gates is a really interesting storyline to follow because he is going to sign and make his decision Wednesday, but will not announce where he is going until January, after taking part in a Polynesian Bowl.

During the trip to Arizona to visit Robinson, the Huskers also paid a visit to the safety, who would easily be among the highest-rated defensive prospects for Nebraska football in its 2019 class.

The Huskers need speed and athleticism at the back end of their defense and Pola-Gates is a guy that can provide that. He’s also 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, which gives the Huskers another long defender in the secondary, which has been a theme so far for NU. He could also play multiple spots.

Another thing to take into consideration with Pola-Gates is that highly-touted Daxton Hill, a 5-star safety that just flipped to Alabama. Hill is still considering Michigan, where he was committed previously, but if he stays with Bama, maybe Pola-Gates would go to Nebraska, where finding the field early would be much easier.

Hopefully, when he signs next week, somehow, someway, we will find out where he’s going.
