With the early signing period coming up next Wednesday, here are five recruiting battles to watch as a Nebraska football fan.

With less than a week to go before players can officially start signing, the Nebraska football team, led by head coach Scott Frost, have put together a pretty strong class of recruits.

With the recent addition of Wandale Robinson, Nebraska football has the No. 22 class overall according to 247sports and more importantly, the Huskers have the fourth-best class in the Big Ten, including the best-ranked group in the Big Ten.

However, the Huskers still have a chance to add some critical pieces over the next week. There are a number of key guys from the 2019 class that are going to make their decisions shortly.

Ever since the end of the season, Frost and the rest of the coaches have been crisscrossing the country traveling from Kentucky to Arizona trying to close things out strong. Most of the guys that we will look at in this post are going to be singing and announcing their decisions in the next week.

Some of these guys are going to be critical gets for Nebraska football, especially as the Huskers try to rebuild a defense that has been a problem for years. With Robinson, Darien Chase, Dedrick Mills, Bryce Benhart and Luke McCaffrey, the offense has added some nice pieces. Now, it would be great to see the Huskers close well on the other side of the ball.

There are some chances out there and here are a five recruiting battles Nebraska football hopes to win.
